Fashion Doesn’t Make You, You Make The Fashion.
Hi, my name is Kourtney and I am a Plus-Size Woman, who wears what I like, and loves wearing confidently! When was the last time you ordered something that you thought was going to be a little more fashionable and risky than you normally wear? I mean the thing you saw online, or in the mall that looked REALLY cute but you instantly thought, “that’s cute, but on someone else”. Being an influencer I always get DM’s about how do you wear XYZ, and the answer is always the same, I just put it on with a good wig, and we make something shake! I have always loved fashion, but I couldn’t always express my true style for various reasons. Now that I am older, I can finally showcase the style I actually enjoy in my clothes. More importantly, I want everyone else to experience the same joy I have from making things that some people may feel I “shouldn’t wear” and wearing the heck out of them!
Here’s how you start wearing those “fashionably risky” clothes that you thought you could never wear. These are my top secret tips for achieving this, so you will have to do me a favor and keep this between us.
First thing is you just buy one item that you may feel uncomfortable wearing in public, and wear it in front of the mirror in the house! Once you have this on, ask yourself why you don’t like this on?. Keep in mind that you are absolutely beautiful, and if you’d asked me, I would hype you up to the highest level!
Second, what is needed for you to feel more confident and more importantly more comfortable in this item? For me, sometimes I don’t like how my stomach looks in a certain outfit, so I’ll wear shapewear to help me feel more comfortable in the item. I’ll also pair it with something I already feel comfortable in and more importantly confident in. This helps me only adjust a little, compared to a lot if I am out in public.
Third, I wear this RISKEYYYYY thing someplace I have never been, and where I know no one will notice me. I know this sounds crazy but, more often than not people will compliment you and it helps you know that you’ve not only made the right decision putting this fit on, but YOU LOOK AMAZING.
Essentially, I know it’s not always easy wearing fashionable items, especially as a plus-size woman! Most times, the items look different on the model than they do on you, and that’s okay! But, my hope is that these tips will help you continue to make fashion and not allow fashion to make you! If someone hasn’t told you today, you are beautiful, your light shines bright, and life is better because you’re in it! Be fashionable, stay cute, and I’ll talk to yall in my next blog post.
